...planNing your wedding video. (under construction)

These are just a few simple tips on how to help us help you to make your wedding video the very best it can be.

1) Make sure your church has no restrictions on Videography.
Some churches have restrictions on video taping. Some churches are so strict as to not even allow cameras in the sanctuary. These rules are often in place because they heard of a bad experience with a video crew who used harsh lights during the ceremony or didn't respect the sanctity of the church. Our videographers are very responsible and unobtrusive. We never use any lights during the ceremony and for the most part we remain unnoticeable to any of your guests. In fact you could safely say that we are less noticable than the photographers. If your church has restrictions, inform them that video is very important to you. Most churches will be flexible in regard to the brides desires. After all, it is your day and they want you to be happy.

2) Remind your wedding planner to plan for video.
Many wedding planners overlook the importance of the videographer. If no one tells them, then they won't know how important the video is to you and won't plan for it .If you count on your relatives to take camcorder coverage of your wedding, you can count on being disappointed and will miss documenting accurate coverage of this once in a lifetime event. It is important that our technicians be in communication with your wedding planner to arrange that we will have the ability to get the shots we need from the angles we would prefer.

3) Don't hide your face in elaborate stage decorations.
Large flower bouquets, hanging cloths, plants, columns, and other decorations may look great, but often they are arranged with no consideration to the camera. You will want to see your facial expressions throughout the ceremony and those of your mate. Not a big candelabra!

4) Don't Speak tooooooo Softly...
Don't get the wrong idea -Our microphones are very sensitive and can pick up low voices in most situations. However, its always safer to speak at a level where your bridal party can hear you. Some brides or grooms can be shy and want to wispier their vows. If that's your style, then we can usually deal with it. However, Just keep in mind that you should speak loud enough for you maid of honor to hear you in order for your video to be the best it can be.

6) Inform your bridal party that video is important to you.
Some people may be a little camera shy. We do our best to be unobtrusive and keep a documentary style. However, its always a good idea to inform everyone, including grandma, that you want them to be in your wedding video. This way you can avoid having people hideing from the camera or turning there faces away. Its best for everyone to just ignore the camera and think of it as the fifth wall.

7) Inform your Guests that you want them in your video.
We try to interview all your guests and relatives by giving them the opportunity to record a personal message to you on your wedding day. On several occasions, we miss someone because they don't understand how much you want them to be a part of your video. During the guest greatings some people tell fun stories, reflect on memories, or just say that they had a great time at your wedding. Its not a toast, so there is no preasure. Say whatever you want.

9) Choose your Music....

We want to make you happy. Let us know what music you want. If you have a few songs you can name we can put them in your video.

10) Get Mic'ed up....

For your ceremony we hide a small wireless lavaliere microphone on the groom and the officiant. Please allow us time to mic you up. This only takes about 60 seconds but should be done at least 45 minutes before your ceremony begins for testing purposes. It's not uncommon for a groom to arrive very late - sometimes only minutes before the ceremony begins. Just so you are aware, it is best for us to get the microphone on you as soon as possible. So, as a reminder, one of our assistants will be looking for you 45 minutes before the ceremony.
